Experience everyday Dutch life in Enschede (not a sightseeing tour) - How We Live
This is not a sightseeing tour in Enschede. Walk, cycle and experience everyday Dutch life to understand how the Netherlands really works.
Most visitors experience the Netherlands by moving from one highlight to the next.
How We Live – The Netherlands takes a different approach.
This experience is about understanding a country through its everyday life — the things people here do without thinking about them. How they move through the city, how they interact with each other, how space is shared, and why Dutch cities often feel calm, organized and understated.
During this small-group experience in Enschede, we slow down and focus on the ordinary:
we walk through residential neighborhoods, cycle like locals, eat simple food where people actually go, and observe how daily life unfolds around us. Along the way, we talk about habits, social rules, directness, work culture and the small routines that quietly shape Dutch society.
There’s no rush and no checklist.
Instead of giving long explanations, we use light conversation, playful moments and shared observation to let culture reveal itself naturally. Often, it’s the small details — a bike lane, a short conversation, a quiet street — that explain more than any museum or monument ever could.
This experience is not about judging whether something is good or bad, better or worse.
It’s about understanding why things are the way they are, and what that tells you about how people live together here.
By the end of the experience, the Netherlands won’t just look familiar.
It will make sense — and that understanding tends to change how you experience the rest of your trip.
